Life and Business

Sit in front of me, a close friend facing real deep business problem.. He looks very stressful that he did not say anything during his visit to my office. He even refused 
when I offered him to order lunch… "I feel numb… don't have passion for food..", he said. I kinda aware of his situation from everyone else but him before. His group of companies which employ more than 200 people in Jakarta and more in Surabaya is going down. No major business case happened since last year so cash flows were running slow and slower. Today, he confirmed what I heard elsewhere, that he already decided to sell the company's 9 level building, as his last resort to keep the business running and all employee stay on board. Frankly, I have such similar problem… I'm not sure wether mine are worse or lighter than his. The outstanding debts are over 1,2 billions which is even me find it so hard to imagine that I have such a huge debt… probably you noticed that I am not a glamorous person who spend a lot on luxury stuff… I don't even have much of anything from my spending… but daily consumption. However, it is not my only concern… the bigger problem is to maintain rational and stay alive… for those who relies on me.

Do I get stress? Definitely, sometimes… not all the time though… because I believe that nobody owns one's life, even the big organization to whom I owe them amount of capital and interest. I think life is bigger than just business… Anything bigger? I assume… I just don't know it yet… Business suppose to be good and must contribute to a form of positive life… happily ever after… (as for pisces, this is the most ultimate key-phrase in life). The thing is, sometimes we get confused of what's real in social term and what's real that only happen in our head. Some folks think that all are my mistaken understanding of business, that I incapable running business, that I am an utopian, that I am not in touch with reality… because they believe that what should be done is what other's doing and what others told us to do without understanding the essence of such acts… just because everybody doing it… Then they talk about the truth of doing business… The truth according my beloved father… known in two types, which are the original truth according to the bible, al quran and everything from above the sky; and the truth according to the winner.
What type of truths are in my head? Both! I believe that life which God gave me is the ultimate truth I must defend it above everything else in this life. Definitely a good life!!!
