Can Indonesian develop sort of devices? Ups.. Sorry the appropriate question is “would Indonesian develop such devices?”

Dua hal menarik yang saya mau share adalah Google.org dan Google Grant. Dua dari raksasa ini merupakan kegiatan sosial Google untuk masyarakat dunia. Walaupun layanan-layanannya gratis seperti mesin pencarian (search engine) dan email (gmail), sepertinya Google belum merasa marem kalau belum menyentuh hal-hal yang menjadi isu dunia saat ini seperti pemanasan global, kemiskinan dan kesehatan.

Lembaga nirlaba google ini geraknya belum terdengar luas, dan sepertinya masih mencari format yang tepat untuk menyalurkan sumbangan-sumbangannya. Geraknya pun masih terbatas karena lingkupnya yang juga masih kecil. Bergabung dengan komunitas nirlaba yang sudah terbentuk baik adalah modus yang digunakan untuk memperluas jangkauannya. Google.org saat ini memfokuskan diri pada:

• Perubahan Iklim (Climate Change)
• Kesehatan publik (Public Health)
• Pembangunan Ekonomi dan Kemiskinan (Economic Development & Poverty)
• Iklan Layanan Masyarakat (Google Grant)

Google Grant

Kalau anda lihat iklan di website berbahasa Indonesia yang disediakan oleh Google beberapa waktu yang lalu, anda akan melihat iklan layanan masyarakat yang mengarah pada website bush-clinton untuk bencana katrina. Iklan itu muncul di website Indonesia karena mesin indexer google adsense tidak menemukan context yang sesuai dalam website berbahasa Indonesia tersebut, sehingga sebagai alternatif dimunculkan iklan layanan masyarakat.

Google Grant adalah layanan gratis dari google.org untuk penggunaan fasilitas adwords. Layanan gratis ini hanya diperuntukan bagi lembaga non profit dan diberlakukan persyaratan-persyaratan di atasnya. Contoh dari layanan ini adalah iklan bush-clinton tadi. Untuk Indonesia?

Sayangnya saya tidak pernah lihat iklan layanan masyarakat Google untuk bencana-bencana di Indonesia. Ini mungkin karena Indonesia belum menjadi target operasi google.org. Untuk itu sepertinya harus ada lembaga non-profit Indonesia yang apply, setidaknya untuk layanan Google Grant.

Ada baiknya juga para pendekar AdSense Indonesia juga memanfaatkan peluang ini untuk membantu saudara-saudara kita yang sedang terkena bencana.

Catatan tambahan: website bush-clinton untuk bencana katrina itu sepertinya sudah kedaluarsa, karena tanggal terakhir di-update adalah 15 September 2006. Sepertnya google juga cukup dodol dengan tetap menayangkannya. Sementara para pemula AdSense ngarep-ngarep dapet iklan yang bagus…

One of top Indonesia businesses is Agribusiness. With million of acres land of forests and farms across the archipelago, Indonesia is one of the richest country in terms of natural resources. Beside natural gas and oil, palm plantation considered as one of fastest growing and healthy national industry. The industry also involved billions of investment from neighbor country, Malaysia (no.1 CPO world supplier). My brother was way beyond me. He invested billions rupiah on Land Clearing Business since 2003 as a passive investor, now he is running his own Land Clearing company with 100% investment come from his pocket. The company name is Berdikari Bangun Persada (BBP). It runs land clearing projects in East Kalimantan, near Samarinda. The projects are working on more than 20.000 acres, come from local and Malaysian company.Early this year, BBP was appointed for numbers of projects that overload its capacity. Demand was very high, and quality services provider are very rare. Big players are trusting their needs to well known providers. Fortunately BBP considered as one of the prominents together with Rimba Melawai (the award winning contractor).

We are getting to the issue. In order to meet the opportunity, BBP must increase size of its heavy equipment armada, that means more investment required. Meaning we should upscale the operation to meet the opportunity. After discussion with vendor and financing support, we are agree to share this opportunity to interested investors in order to cover upscaling investment requirement.

Most of the investment will required for purchasing additional heavy units. About 8 additional units should be available immediately to support ongoing and upcoming projects. About 2,5 billions rupiah amount sum up of total additional investment required. As we reached ratio quota for other financing services (Banks and Leasing), BBP seek for another alternatives. We came up with project investment share offering.

The offerings are distributed in 4 packages of amount 300 millions rupiah in a three years investment term with very competitive return rate (compare to the complicated Stock Exchange; 60% per annum).
